Observation
What is there.A single falsifiable sentence: what sits where, since when, at which search position. Exact quotes, dates spelled out, results numbered. Judgment adjectives are barred: if the fact is strong, it carries the sentence alone.
The Self-Review
Decision-makers, candidates, and journalists check a person online before they ever meet them. The Self-Review is the method for running that same check yourself: three steps, five classes of finding, one worked example.
The method
The guide breaks every finding into three steps and holds each to a discipline. In thirty minutes you know your three findings, and the first one names what already works.
A single falsifiable sentence: what sits where, since when, at which search position. Exact quotes, dates spelled out, results numbered. Judgment adjectives are barred: if the fact is strong, it carries the sentence alone.
Two or three sentences on what a decision-maker likely takes from what is visible. The obvious reading of a stranger with a few minutes. No invented costs, no drama.
Exactly one move, with an honest estimate of the effort: two minutes, ten minutes, half an hour. No step depends on a service.
The five classes of finding
If a finding reads as two classes, scope decides: a single surface, or a pattern across surfaces. The guide gives the rule for deciding.
Which paths lead an evaluator to you: what the first page of Google returns under your name, and whether your surfaces point to one another. You or only the company, a namesake, or nothing at all. Absence is a finding too, and so is a strong proof point that nothing links to.
Whether the text of a single surface proves or asserts: a role with a remit against a bare title, checkable detail against adjectives.
Fixed facts that drift between surfaces: dates, role titles, numbers that publicly contradict each other.
Datable standstill: the last activity months back, a photo from another era, an orphaned channel. An abandoned surface reads worse than none.
Whether your own voice exists anywhere in public: the pattern across all surfaces, not the tone of a single one. A complete but voiceless presence is a finding in itself.
A look at the example
The guide closes with one short analysis played out in full. The example is constructed: the person, the company, and every source in it are invented. Here is the first of its three findings.
Short analysis
Constructed exampleA search for “Alan Rourke Rourke Drive Systems” returns your technical article on designing custom gearboxes for rail vehicles, published in Drive Systems Review, March 2025 issue, at the fourth result on the first page of Google, while your LinkedIn profile links to it nowhere.
Anyone who checks you before a first call finds third-party proof: a trade editor judged your work worth printing. That carries more than any self-description, and the placement looks earned, not staged. Only someone who reaches you through LinkedIn learns none of it; the two surfaces work apart from each other.
Link the article in the Featured section of your LinkedIn profile and name it in one line of your bio. Ten minutes, once, and both surfaces show the same proof.
Findings 2 and 3, the reading notes, and the 30-minute run-through are in the PDF guide.
The posture
The method checks the surfaces, never the worth of the work. Every observation is written so it can be verified the same day: one phrasing, one date, one search position. And the first finding always names what already works.
The method comes from Builderz practice. The same three steps we use to read the presence of founders and executives, you run on your own surfaces. In full, and no step depends on a service.
The guide
Ten pages: the problem, the method, the five classes of finding, the 30-minute run-through, the worked example, and the honest limit of checking yourself.
The guide comes straight to your inbox. Confirm the quick email, and the PDF is waiting there. After that you need nothing but an incognito window, a blank document, and thirty minutes.
Your inbox
You will get an email from Builderz. Confirm your address in it, and the PDF lands in your inbox. No email in sight: check your spam folder.
The next sensible step is your own run-through: thirty minutes, three surfaces, three findings. And if you then want to add the outside read: Bernhard will make the time.
